The Medical Model

Specialty Clinic of Austin provides comprehensive outpatient behavioral health and psychiatric care for children, adolescents and adults.

What services does Specialty Clinic of Austin Provide?

The primary role of the Expert Care team at Specialty Clinic of Austin is the pharmacologic management of psychiatric conditions. This is also known as the “medical model” approach. This approach begins with a comprehensive evaluation and an assessment of each patient’s biopsychosocial influences (e.g., biological predispositions, medical conditions, problematic behaviors, and social stressors). This information is used to formulate an individual treatment plan that fits the needs and goals of each unique patient.

Counseling and therapy services are available through our specialized counseling division. Click here to learn more.
